“The department just issues notices and the schools ignore the notices and carry on. The authorities’ lenient behaviour has led to the growth of such illegal schools every year” said PMC corporator Prathamesh Soman.
Education officials said that if such schools are found operating after June 15, a report will be sent to the government. The department may also file FIR against the school authorities, apart from imposing a fine of Rs 1 lakh against the management.
